BIOGRAPHY

Bass/Baritone – Barcelona
​
Holding a BA in Modern Music and Jazz from the Higher School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC), Joan Carles Capdevila has had a musical career stretching more than 35 years.
 
He is a singer, arranger and composer, a member of a cappella groups and an instrumentalist in several musical ensembles. 
​
He has taken part in many recordings with artists such as: Moncho, Ketama, Paulina Rubio, Peret, Lauren Postigo, Mikel Herzog and Pee Wee Ellis. He has also made recordings for animated films by prominent companies such as Walt Disney and Warner Bros.
​
In the classical field, he has performed in ensembles such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu Choir and Orfeó Catalá, among others.
​
He is regularly on the jury of international music festivals and speaks at conferences as part of the University of Barcelona's “Gaudir UB” programme.
​
He currently teaches classes in the Barcelona “Taller de Músics” and at the “Aulos” Municipal Music School in Cerdanyola del Vallès.

TELEVISION
​
He regularly works with the Gestmusic-Endemol production company on successful television programmes such as “Lluvia de Estrellas”, “Menudas Estrellas”, “Parodia Nacional”, “Canciones de nuestra vida”, “Vivo Cantando” and “Eurojunior”, among others.
​
He has worked as a voice and repertoire coach in seven of the ten seasons of “Operación Triunfo” and he is currently also the musical language teacher in this year's OT 2020.
